I had previously used my brother's old Intex 2-in-1 air mattress whenever I visited them and always kept saying that I really should purchase one of my own so I decided to act and set to work on looking for the right one for me.
As you can imagine there are a few different types of airbeds on the market, but a name that repeatedly kept coming up in forums and review sites was the intex raised airbed.

Storage and Portability
My first requirement was that the airbed should be easily portable and when folded down be small enough to store away as I don't have a lot of storage space. The intex raised airbed folds away into a compact size duffel bag that fits under my stairs perfectly.
Bed Size
I wanted an airbed that when inflated was big enough for 1 person to be able to move around comfortably. The intex air bed range had a twin bed, but to me this did not look big enough for an adult, so I opted for the queen size air mattress that was 64 x 19.5 x 82 which was in reality is more like a large double, but it would be great for me.
The height on the intex is about 17 inches which was the ideal height for getting in and out of easily.
Inflate Quickly and Easily
I saw many airbeds that had manual pumps and I knew that would become hard work after a while. The Intex inflatable beds come with an electric pump that inflates the bed in about 3 minutes. Take some pumping to do that manually!
Waterproof and Strong
